WCTV created this initiative after one of our coastal communities, Taylor County, was devastated by Hurricane Helene in 2024. Helene was the third hurricane to directly hit them in just 13 months. The resources that had initially poured in were suddenly pulled to the Tampa area as Hurricane Milton took aim at the Sunshine State. WCTV stepped in to fill the void. Pack the PODS, a one-day donation drive, collected tens of thousands of dollars in relief supplies for Taylor County residents. One 16-foot PODS container and one 10-foot U-Haul truck were filled with hurricane relief supplies donated by residents across our community.
