In June, an autistic boy in Hopkins, Minnesota wandered away from his home and was found in a local creek. The sad death of a child led to the realization it was happening in other places. WCCO host Sheletta Brundidge took a "news story" on WCCO and turned it into a mission of hope for parents. Over the next six months, Brundidge held events where she often broadcast her WCCO show and donated interior door locks to keep children safe. Shows were done in Minnesota, Boston, Houston and Ohio.
